GDPR - Data Protection
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force across Europe on 25th May 2018. These extended previous Data Protection regulation.

In these pages:

  • "Club" refers to a Bridge Club, Bridge Organization or other Organization which has chosen to use "Bridgewebs" to manage its Web Site and databases.
  • "Member" refers to a player of any Organization who has provided personal information to the "Club" for processing

With the GDPR, there is a 3 way responsibilty

The "Club" has a duty to keep the information received or recorded about a "Member" in accordance with the regulations

Bridgewebs needs both a Privacy statement and a Contract regarding its relationship between Bridgewebs and the Club. We are working on this.

The Club needs a different Privacy statement regarding its relationship between the Club and its Members. We are looking at whether a general Privacy Policy could be built dynamically from a standard template.

"Club" - Bridgewebs

A Contract between the "Club" and "Bridgewebs" is used to define the rules for holding and processing information are in accordance with the Regulations. See "Contract" page below. The key points are

  • The "Club" is responsible for providing a "Privacy Policy" statement regarding its relationship between the "Club" and its "Members" and this will usually be shown as a page in the Web Site.
  • The "Club" is responsible for ensuring they use their "Members" "Personal Data" in accordance to their preferences (Opt-In)
  • The "Club" is responsible for using "Bridgewebs" according to the Contract and general Bridgewebs "Terms & Conditions".
  • "Bridgewebs" is responsible for ensuring that the "Service" provides facilities to process and hold any "Personal Data" according to the GDPR regulations and Contract
"User" - Bridgewebs

Any "User" of Bridgewebs, whether a Visitor or "Member" of an organization uses Bridgewebs in accordance with the T&C, In particular

  • Bridgewebs will ensure that Cookies are only used to provide the "User" with a better experience and not used for Tracking purposes.
  • Bridgewebs is responsible for ensuring that the "Service" provides facilities to process and hold any "Personal Data" according to the GDPR regulations and T&C.
